PRESENT: Garry Carter, Ron Cole, Mike Bemrose, Tony Farrow, Gordon Sherlock, Brian Munro, Colin Thorniley, David Scott.
APOLOGIES: Stan Sexton, Stan Bird
SPECIAL WELCOME: Peter Green, Vice President of the Country Vets was welcomed to the meeting
MINUTES: of previous meeting held on 10/3/2015 confirmed and accepted
BUSINESS ARISING FROM MINUTES:
Attendances have still been only in the 60 – 70 players range at most games with senior pennants still in play.
A small financial loss on most games is assisted by sponsors fees added back in.
The York game is all set with the York boys helping out at Collier park in preparation. Will set up the time sheet to suit how they want to run the day and try to get it out earlier to assist the numbers. Will also e-mail members with details to encourage attendance.
Late arrivals on golf days are causing issues for the guys on the registration desk. Need to reinforce the 20-30 min limit prior to tee off time on check ins.

No new resignations but will start to shift some members to non active category on the list.
Have switched George Day Caravans to Mt Lawley on 6th July
Peter Krohn from Distinctive Golf is sending a range of prizes for his sponsored day together with promotional brochures
The York golf day details have been worked out and they will run the day at $15 / player covering the catering etc. WAVGA will donate golf balls to cover extra prizes
Bill Sanders at Mt Lawley Realty was not available for his sponsored day due to pennants and travel but will back playing golf on his return.
The additional costs for games at Lake Karrinyup and Joondalup was discussed and the green fee agreed at $55. As these games will be well attended the need to discount further was seen to be not necessary. We will need to limit the time sheet to about 12.30pm even with the high attendance due to early sunset at this time.
The issue of keeping the committee minutes on file on the web page was discussed. It was agreed to continue this option. The information should be available to all members and it is easier to keep records on file than only on hard copy. If any particular issue had concerns then it could be restricted from this file copy.
Peter Green gave us a good insight into how the country vets organisation is progressing. Membership is increasing and now over 600 members with all golf day fields full. They have a standard $20 fee and run all shotgun starts from 9.30am. Peter would like to see reciprocal games being available as options for both organisations and he is keen to be involved in promoting this option. A central contact through WAVGA captain Gordon Sherlock was seen as the best option at our end and Peter as first contact for any country vets games. We will get their programme up on our web site for information.
Country vets are already planning for next years city vs country challenge and we will put it into next years programme for 26th March at Bunbury
Peter also advised about interstate options as lead ups to the National Champs. NSW are running a series of weeks of golf as lead ins to 2018 Champs at Port Stephens
There being no further business the meeting closed at 11.15 am.
The next meeting will be held on Tuesday 14th. July at 10am Royal Perth GC.
